Just Believe

By Wayne Ulery

The winters of NE Ohio get pretty cold and create a perfect environment for cuddling up on the couch and watching some movies.  I enjoy movies that are filled with motivation and inspiration, leaving you impacted once it’s over.  On Mondays I plan on publishing a Motivational Movie post that will inspire and motivate you in your journey from success to significance.  I learned long ago that you can not motivate anyone to do anything, you can simply put them in an environment filled with motivation, and whatever is deep inside will come out.  If you have a desire for more out of life and wish to become a better person to those around you, a post like this will do the trick.

For my first Motivational Movie post, I’m referencing one of my all time favorites from 1997,  “The Edge”  with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin.  – A billionaire and two other men are stranded, unequipped, by a plane crash in a dangerous wilderness.  How many will survive to be rescued?

There are many amazing scenes in this movie to learn from, but for this M.M. I will pick 2.   At the beginning of the movie, Charles (Anthony Hopkins) is given a book as a gift.  A book on survival in the wilderness.  It’s in this book that he learns how Indians killed bears many years ago.  In the scene I share with you below Charles (Hopkins) and Alec Baldwin are the only two left and they are constantly on the run from a man-eating bear.  Charles realizes that they are going to have to kill the bear.   As you watch the video, ask yourself these questions…

What has someone else overcome that I am struggling with?

What has another man done that I want to do?

It’s truly amazing what we can do when we just believe.  I sincerely hope that you enjoyed this post at WayneUlery.Com and that you plan to come back and visit from time to time.  You can get a text message or an email for when my next post is published by simply filling out the forms in the right column of this blog.

From Success to Significance.
